The fellowship will begin with an intensive, two-week induction, after which the cohort will shift to their respective field locations. We acknowledge that the fellowship can be rigorous, and thought-provoking. Hence, we will facilitate the transformation of gears in as smooth a way as possible through our induction and training program.
In the first month, the fellows spend time identifying and networking with schools in the region, collecting specific data through a needs assessment. This period will also be utilized by the cohort in building relationships, to ensure that the logistics are in place for a smooth flowing fellowship period.
The following months are spent conducting sessions on menstrual hygiene with girls and teachers in educational institutions, while also forming peer learning groups, which will ensure the sustainability of the program. The fellows responsibility will also include managing and coordinating the sessions with educational institutions, for which the core team will provide support to ensure stability on the ground.
The fellowship is a full-time engagement, wherein we expect the cohort to commit to the project for an entire year. Each program coordinator will be responsible for a set of fellows in a region, in terms of handling logistics, providing support to the fellows at every stage and ensuring the safety of the fellows they work with.

Sukhibhava works with marginalized women and adolescent girls, to empower them through awareness and de-stigmatization in a scalable and replicable manner. Sukhibhava directly works on building awareness with women and girls and also works with influencers like men, boys & teachers to create positive socio-cultural environments. We believe this will eventually lead to an increase in demand for the infrastructure and products like toilets, access to water, menstrual hygiene products and soap leading to systemic change. In a largely products driven menstrual hygiene space, Sukhibhava believes access & affordability to products is one part of the issue while the larger issue is lack of access to information and behavior change.
We are currently working with women & girls in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu. We have also kickstarted the first cohort of "The Period Fellowship".
