DevRiser LLC is seeking a knowledgeable compliance and policy development specialist intern to draft, review, and implement company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will understand human resources, legal compliance, and business operations, ensuring the company complies with all relevant laws and maintains a positive and ethical work environment.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Policy Development: Draft and revise company policies, including the employee handbook, code of conduct, anti-harassment policy, IT and data security policy, and health and safety policy
2. Compliance: Ensure all policies comply with local, state, federal, and international laws
3. Research: Stay current with legal requirements and best practices in HR and business operations
4. Collaboration: Work with various departments to incorporate relevant policies
5. Training: Develop materials and programs to educate employees on policies
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and accessible records of all policies
7. Review and Update: Review and update policies to keep them effective
8. Communication: Communicate policy changes to employees and provide guidance
9. Reporting: Report policy development and compliance status to senior management
10. Support: Provide support on policy interpretation and ensure consistent implementation

1. Degree: A bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or JD (Juris Doctor) is preferred.
2. Certifications: Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP (Society for Human Resource Management—Certified Professional/Senior Certified Professional) or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
3. Experience: At least 6 months of experience in human resources, legal compliance, or a related field.
4. Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR practices, employment law, compliance standards, and policy development.
5. Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and research skills; attention to detail; and the ability to work independently.
6. Google Workspace Proficiency: Knowledge of Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc. and experience with HR management software.
7. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
8. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
