We invite applications for the Visiting Students' Research Programme (VSRP-2021), which will be held from Monday, May 3, to Friday, July 2, 2021, at NCRA-TIFR. The VSRP-2021 will consist of a research project on astronomy and astrophysics, either theoretical, observational or computational, depending on project availability and student preferences.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include working on a research project on astronomy and astrophysics, either theoretical, observational or computational, depending on project availability and student preferences.

Who can apply

Only those candidates can apply who:

1. are available for full time (in-office) internship

2. are available for duration of 2 months

3. are from or open to relocate to Pune and neighboring cities

4. have relevant skills and interests

Added requirements

1. Interest in physics and astronomy

2. Students who will complete their M.Sc., Integrated M.Sc. or 4-year-B.Sc. degrees (in Physics, Astronomy, Applied Mathematics or Electronics) or their B.Tech./B.E. degrees (in any stream) in 2022.

Additional information

Based on their performance in the research project, the project seminar, and subsequent interviews, outstanding students will be offered a research scholarship towards a Ph.D. at NCRA, to be taken upon completion of the qualifying degree.
Will be provided with hostel accommodation on the NCRA-TIFR campus during the program.
They will also be paid 1.33 times the second-class return railway fare between the place of their residence or education and Pune.
