Independent Thought is a national human rights organization working towards equality, justice, and mutual respect. We work on human rights and law through direct intervention, advocacy, and judicial actions, and provide technical and hand-holding support to non-government, government, multilateral-funding, policy research, and grassroots organizations in several states of India. Over the years, we have gained varied experience in the areas of law and development, rights of children, women, and marginalized communities, governance intervention (ULB, PRI, and scheduled areas) and conflict zones, social and legal studies, action research, development of legal manuals and IEC materials, imparting training, participatory and rights-based approach, strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluations. We have experience spanning urban, rural, scheduled (tribal), and conflict areas across India.
