About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop and deliver dance courses and lessons to students of all levels
2. Teach a range of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and other popular styles
3. Create choreography for performances and competitions, and direct rehearsals
4. Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their dance technique and performance skills
5. Provide individual and group coaching to students for performances and competitions
6. Collaborate with other faculty members and departments to develop and implement dance programs and events
7. Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and other relevant activities to contribute to the academic and artistic mission of the institution
8. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress
9. Provide academic and career counseling to students, as needed
10. Engage in professional development activities, including attending workshops, conferences, and performances, to enhance teaching and artistic expertise
11. Adhere to safety and ethical guidelines for dance instruction, including proper warm-up and injury prevention techniques
