About the job

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in creating and developing design concepts, and collaborate with the design team to generate innovative ideas.
2. Conduct market research to stay updated on current fashion trends, and analyze competitor products and offerings.
3. Support in sourcing materials and fabrics for design projects and assist in the development and prototyping of new products.
4. Maintain organized records of design concepts, sketches, and material samples and prepare design presentation materials for internal and external use.
5. Work closely with cross-functional teams such as production, marketing, and sales, and support in coordinating activities related to product launches and promotions.
6. Actively participate in design meetings and workshops and stay informed about industry developments and design software tools.
7. Work on evolving project requirements and assist in various tasks as required to support the design and merchandising team.
8. Effectively communicate design ideas and concepts and collaborate with team members to ensure cohesive project execution.

Other requirements

1. Graduating from NIFT is a must.

2. Bachelors degree in fashion design, merchandising, or a related field

3. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in fashion design and merchandising, preferably in sportswear.

4. Strong portfolio showcasing design capabilities and previous work.

5. Excellent understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes.

6. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.

7. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

8. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

9. Passion for sports and understanding of the functional requirements of sportswear is a bonus.
