About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Freelance Interview Panelist to assist in our recruitment process for a Digital Preservation Specialist. This is a freelance, remote-based role ideal for an experienced professional with deep expertise in digital preservation strategies, archival standards, metadata frameworks, and preservation tools.
Your role will involve participating in interviews, evaluating technical and domain knowledge, and helping identify top candidates for this specialized role.Key Responsibilities:
Participate in structured interviews with candidates applying for Digital Preservation Specialist roles.
Assess candidate knowledge of digital archiving standards (e.g., OAIS, METS, PREMIS), metadata schemas (e.g., Dublin Core), and preservation tools/platforms.
Evaluate experience with file format migration, long-term storage strategies, and repository systems (e.g., Archivematica, DSpace, Preservica).
Ask domain-specific questions and practical scenarios to gauge applied knowledge.
Provide detailed, unbiased feedback and recommendations to the hiring team.Requirements:
8+ years of experience in digital preservation, digital archives, or a related field such as library/information science or records management.
Familiarity with digital preservation standards and lifecycle management practices.
Experience with digital repository systems and preservation software/tools.
Prior experience in recruitment, mentoring, or interviewing is a plus.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
