Reporter - Startups & Technology Job (Remote)

We are looking for a startup reporter who is passionate about startups, venture capital, and technology. You will be responsible for breaking news, analyzing trends, and crafting in-depth stories that go beyond the surface. The ideal candidate should be curious, tenacious, and have a strong instinct for identifying the most important stories in the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities:

1. Report on the Indian startup ecosystem, including funding rounds, product launches, regulatory changes, and leadership movements.
2. Develop sources within the startup, VC, and tech communities to break exclusive stories.
3. Conduct interviews with founders, investors, and industry experts.
4. Write deeply researched features and investigative pieces that add value beyond press releases.
5. Collaborate with the editorial team to shape The Arc's coverage strategy.
6. Stay ahead of trends and identify key themes shaping the future of startups and tech in India.

What We're Looking For:

1. 1-3 years of experience in business journalism, preferably covering startups or technology.
2. A strong understanding of India's startup ecosystem and venture capital landscape.
3. Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with an ability to simplify complex topics.
4. A nose for news and the ability to identify and pursue exclusive stories.
5. Strong interviewing and research skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
7. Familiarity with data journalism and investigative reporting is a plus.
