Role Overview: As our first technical hire, you'll play a pivotal role in building our MVP and shaping our tech stack. You'll collaborate closely with the founders, leading the development efforts and setting the foundation for future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. MVP Development: Lead the end-to-end creation of our product, from design to deployment
2. Tech Leadership: Establish our technology stack and best practices
- Hands-On Coding: Develop scalable, maintainable code across the stack
3. Strategic Input: Translate product vision into technical requirements
- Mentorship & Growth: Guide future engineering hires and foster a strong tech culture
4. Performance and Security: Implement robust security measures and optimize backend processes
1. Candidates with minimum 3 years of experience.
Technical Skills:
1. Backend: Expert-level proficiency in Node.js, with extensive experience in backend frameworks such as Express or similar
2. Database: Proficiency with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases
- Understanding of database design principles and experience with ORMs
3. APIs/Integrations: Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and Graphql
4. Architecture: Experience with designing scalable systems
5. DevOps: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
Who You Are:
1. 3+ years of software engineering experience, with a passion for startups
2. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous challenges
3. Excellent communicator, capable of explaining complex technical concepts
4. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are driven to take ownership
5. Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms will be a huge plus
