Job Description: Site Engineer - MEP
Position Title: Site Engineer (MEP)
Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Engineer
Job Overview:
The Site Engineer (MEP) will be responsible for overseeing the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) installation and construction activities on-site. This role includes managing and coordinating MEP installations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision: Supervise MEP installations on-site, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring work is carried out as per specifications and drawings.
2. Coordination with Stakeholders: Work closely with the project manager, architects, contractors, and other engineers to coordinate project activities and resolve technical issues.
3. Quality Control: Ensure all MEP works are executed according to the project's quality standards and relevant codes and standards.
4. Material Management: Ensure the availability of necessary materials, tools, and equipment on-site, and ensure proper storage and handling.
5. Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols on-site and ensure that workers comply with health and safety regulations.
6. Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of the MEP works, prepare daily progress reports, and provide regular updates to senior management on project milestones.
7. Inspection & Testing: Conduct inspections of MEP systems, conduct performance testing, and ensure systems are operational and in accordance with the design requirements.
8. Problem Solving: Identify any technical issues that arise on-site and provide practical, cost-effective solutions to resolve them.
9. Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all work is in compliance with local regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
10. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of MEP work, including daily logs, material requisitions, inspection reports, and installation schedules.
11. Commissioning Support: Assist in the commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements and are fully functional before project completion.
