Overview: We are looking for a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a Storekeeper. The Storekeeper will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, receiving and storing merchandise, and ensuring the efficient operation of the store's storage area. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive incoming shipments of merchandise and verify the accuracy of the delivery against purchase orders
2. Unload and unpack merchandise, carefully inspecting items for damage or defects
3. Properly label and store merchandise in designated storage areas, ensuring that items are organized and easily accessible
4. Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems, including tracking stock levels, reorder points, and expiration dates
5. Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock counts with system records and identify any discrepancies
6. Monitor inventory levels and reorder merchandise as needed to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent stockouts
7. Rotate stock and monitor expiration dates to minimize waste and ensure the freshness of perishable items
8. Assist with the preparation and execution of physical inventory counts as required
9. Keep the storage area clean, organized, and free of hazards, following all safety protocols and procedures
10. Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to coordinate the movement of merchandise and fulfill customer orders in a timely manner
11. Report any inventory-related issues or concerns to management and propose solutions for improvement

Other requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification
2. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail or warehouse environment
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
4. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
5. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
6. Knowledge of proper handling and storage procedures for different types of merchandise, including perishable items
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and interact professionally with suppliers and vendors
