About the Program
Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) is a Navratna CPSU (a top-performing Central Public Sector Undertaking with special financial autonomy from the Government of India). It works under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. It is India’s main agency for renewable energy projects like solar, wind, hybrid, green hydrogen, and offshore wind.
The SECI Internship gives students and young professionals direct exposure to India’s renewable energy sector. As an intern, you work at a top government organization and contribute to real national-level clean energy projects.


Who Can Apply?
To meet the SECI internship requirement, you must be a student currently enrolled in any of the following courses at a recognized university:
- Engineering: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Renewable Energy, Solar, Wind, Electrical, Civil, IT, CS, or related fields (middle or final year)
- Management: MBA or equivalent in Finance, HR, Power Management, or Marketing (middle or final year)
- Research: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Green Hydrogen, Energy Storage, Offshore Wind, or related areas
- Professional Degree: CA, ICWA, or LL.B./LL.M. in Law (middle or final year)

How to Apply for the SECI Internship?
Complete the SECI internship application process following the below steps:
- Visit the official SECI website between the 1st and 10th of each month.
- Go to the Careers section and select ‘SECI Internship.’
- Register using your email ID and mobile number.
- Complete the application form and upload the required documents.
- Submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your institute at the start of the internship.
- Submit the application before the deadline.
Note: SECI accepts applications only between the 1st and 10th of each month. Candidates can apply only once per financial year, and the application remains valid throughout the year.
Selection Process
The SECI internship selection process is as follows:
- Step 1: Head of Department (HoD) of the relevant domain reviews applications.
- Step 2: SECI selects candidates based on their academic records and the specific requirements of the department. Usually, SECI does not conduct interviews for internship selection.
- Step 3: SECI contacts shortlisted candidates for further discussion or confirmation.
Important Guidelines for SECI Interns
- Interns must bring their own laptops, although desktops may be provided to CA, CS, or MBA interns if required.
- SECI provides workspace and internet access during the internship.
- Each intern works under the guidance of a designated Project Head or Mentor and is expected to follow regular working hours.
- Interns who leave before completing the program must provide 7 working days’ notice and will not receive an SECI internship certificate.

- Project Monitoring: Tracking the progress of flagship projects like the 100MW Floating Solar in Jharkhand or BESS in Andhra Pradesh.
