📌About the Event
The 1st Basant Kumar Jaggi Memorial Online Mediation Competition 2026 is organised by the All India Law Students Forum (AILSF) in association with Jaggi Jaggi & Jaggi International Attorneys-at-Law. The online competition aims to give law students practical exposure to mediation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) through the roles of mediator, counsel and client. It is being held in memory of late Mr. Basant Kumar Jaggi.

- Competition Date: October 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM IST.
- Each team will consist of 3 participants:
- Mediator
- Counsel
- Client
- The competition will progress through Preliminary Round → Quarter Finals → Semi Finals → Final.
- Cross-institutional teams are permitted.
- AILSF’s latest announcement states that institutions can send up to 3 teams.
📅 Important Dates
- Registrations: Open as of September 16, 2026.
- Problem Release: September 20, 2026.
- Competition Date: October 10, 2026.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibilty:
- Open to bona fide undergraduate law students pursuing:
- 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes
- 3-year LL.B. programmes
- The programme should be recognised by the Bar Council of India or the competent statutory authority.
- Each team must have 3 members, participating as mediator, counsel and client.
- Cross-institutional teams are allowed.
- Up to 3 teams from one institution may participate, according to AILSF’s current announcement.
- Participants will demonstrate skills such as communication, negotiation, active listening, strategic thinking and problem-solving during mediation.
