📌About the Event

The 28th CEC–UGC Educational Film Festival 2026 is a national and international educational filmmaking competition organised by the Consortium for Educational Communication under the University Grants Commission. Started in 1988, the annual festival encourages filmmakers, students, academicians, educational institutions and media professionals to create high-quality educational films, documentaries, lectures, MOOCs and other audiovisual learning content. Selected entries will be recognised through cash prizes, trophies, certificates and screenings during the festival’s award ceremony.

ℹ️ Event Details

• Competition level: National and international
• Submission mode: Online and offline
• Online submission: Participants can upload their film to Google Drive and share it through the festival email address.
• Offline submission: Entries can be submitted in person or sent through post or courier to the Consortium for Educational Communication in New Delhi.
• Selection process: Entries will first undergo jury screening. Award-winning and selected films may subsequently be screened during the award ceremony.
• Award ceremony mode and venue: The date, venue and detailed format of the final award ceremony have not yet been announced.
• Festival objective: To promote and recognise excellence in educational video production among institutions, filmmakers, academicians, media professionals and students.

  • UGC–CEC Educational Multimedia Research Centres
  • Film and television institutes
  • Universities and colleges
  • Academic and educational institutions
  • Private institutions
  • Media and mass communication institutions
  • Media houses
  • Individual educational programme producers and directors
• Category E, the Best Program of the Year Award, is exclusively open to UGC–CEC Media Centres.
• The student category is open to students studying:
  • Mass Communication
  • Journalism
  • Film and Television
  • Related professional courses
• Student entries under the amateur video production category must be forwarded by the head of the participant’s department or institution.
