📌About the Event

The 2nd Lexicon Arbitration Moot Court Competition 2026 is an online moot court competition organised by Virtuosity Legal in collaboration with ODR Nexus. Designed for law students, the competition simulates arbitral proceedings and tests participants on legal research, memorial drafting, advocacy, argumentation, and knowledge of arbitration and dispute resolution. The main oral rounds will be held from November 20–22, 2026.

• Mode of Conduct: Online via Zoom.
• Competition Dates: November 20–22, 2026.
• Language: English.
• Team Size: 2–3 members.
• 2 members: Two speakers.
• 3 members: Two speakers + one researcher.
• Competition Format: Memorial Knock-out → Preliminary Rounds → Quarter-Finals → Semi-Finals → Final.
• In the preliminaries, each team argues once as Claimant and once as Respondent.
• The top 8 teams based on preliminary-round points advance to the Quarter-Finals; subsequent rounds follow a knockout format.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Eligibilty:
• Open to students enrolled in full-time 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes at eligible law institutions.
• International exchange students studying at Indian law schools are also eligible.
• All team members must belong to the same institution; cross-institutional teams are not permitted.
• Teams must maintain anonymity and use only their allotted Team Code during the competition.
• Each team must prepare memorials for both the Claimant and Respondent.
• Memorials are evaluated on legal knowledge, application of facts and law, use of authorities, organisation of arguments, clarity, innovation, and presentation/formatting.
• Oral rounds assess legal knowledge, application of law, use of authorities, responses to questions, clarity, argumentative skills, reference to memorials, court mannerisms, and time management.
