The 2nd Debate Competition 2026 by Canonsphere is a national-level online debate and public speaking competition designed to test participants’ critical thinking, argumentation, oratory, rebuttal, and presentation skills. Participants will debate contemporary social, political, legal, and public-policy issues across preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Eligibilty:
• Students pursuing any undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a recognised university can participate.
• Professionals are not eligible.
• Participants can compete individually or as a team of two.
• Every participant/team will be allotted a side — for the motion or against the motion.
• Participants must not disclose their identity and must use the allotted participant code during the competition.
• Arguments must be supported with accurate facts, evidence or reasoning.
• New arguments cannot be introduced during the rebuttal.
• Use of foul or obscene language may lead to disqualification.
• Participants must keep their camera switched on while speaking.
• The judges’ and organisers’ decisions will be final and binding.
