📌About the Event
The HK vs AU vs IN Quant Trading Hackathon 2026 is a cross-border quantitative trading competition bringing together university students from Hong Kong, Australia, and India. Partnering with Susquehanna, the hackathon challenges participants to build and deploy autonomous quantitative trading bots on the Roostoo platform, compete in live simulated financial markets, and showcase their strategies to industry professionals.
ℹ️ Event Details
- Mode: Primarily virtual/online.
- Participants will design and deploy quantitative or AI-powered trading strategies on the Roostoo real-time mock exchange.
- Teams receive a $1,000,000 virtual portfolio to manage during the competition.
- Trading bots will run autonomously using APIs and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- The competition includes a preparation phase, 14-day live trading round, technical evaluation, and virtual finale.
- Top teams will present their strategies to sponsor and industry judges.

- Trading Bot Repository Submission: Before October 9, 2026
- Top 15 Finalists Announced: October 16, 2026
- Finalist Presentation Deck Deadline: October 23, 2026
- Virtual Finale: October 26–30, 2026
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibilty:
- Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Eligible universities include:
- India: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, DTU and Delhi University.
- Hong Kong: HKU, HKUST and CUHK.
- Australia: USYD, UTS and UNSW.
- Teams can have 1–4 members.
- Each participant can join only one team.
- Knowledge of Python, APIs, quantitative trading, algorithmic trading or AWS/EC2 is useful but not mandatory.
- Finalists must verify their student status using a university ID.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- Total prize pool and educational continuity fund: At least HKD 80,000 / AUD 14,235 / ₹9,73,000.
- 3 cash prizes per region will be awarded.
