LOCUS 2026 is the inaugural edition of an Inter-Collegiate Architecture Design Trophy organised by the Faculty of Architecture, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai. The competition invites young architecture students to move beyond predefined building briefs and develop architectural ideas rooted in place, context, culture and everyday life. It aims to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and diverse architectural approaches among emerging designers.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibilty:
- Open to 3rd, 4th and 5th-year B.Arch students.
- Participants must develop an architectural response based on place, context and culture rather than working from a conventional predetermined building programme.
- The competition encourages participants to first investigate the chosen context, identify relevant architectural questions and then develop their design response.
- Entries must comply with the submission requirements specified in the official LOCUS competition brief.
- The organizers highlight contextual thinking, creativity, critical inquiry and architectural exploration as central to LOCUS 2026.
