📌About the Event

The SDG Innovation Challenge 2026 is a sustainability-focused innovation competition organised by Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC), Coimbatore, in association with the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC). Open to school students from Classes 8 to 12, the challenge encourages young innovators to identify real-world problems and develop creative solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ℹ️ Event Details

• Mode of Conduct: Multi-stage/hybrid competition, including an online idea presentation followed by a prototype presentation/final round.
• Participants can develop solutions under the following theme areas:
• Clean Water & Sanitation
• Affordable & Clean Energy
• Zero Hunger & Smart Agriculture
• Sustainable Cities & Communities
• AI, IoT & Robotics for Sustainable Development

📅 Important Dates

• Idea Submission Deadline: October 7, 2026
• Online Idea Presentation: October 23–24, 2026
• Final Prototype Presentation: Second week of November 2026

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Eligibilty:
• Open to school students studying in Classes 8–12.
• Team Size: 3 students per team.
• Teams should propose an innovative solution connected to one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals.
• Entries may address the listed themes or use the Open Innovation for SDGs category for other sustainability challenges.
• Round 1: Idea submission.
• Round 2: Online presentation of the shortlisted ideas.
• Round 3: Final prototype presentation/demonstration.
• Solutions are expected to address practical, real-world sustainability challenges.
