iDEX Open Challenge 2026
Defence Innovation Organisation
📌 About the Challenge
The iDEX Open Challenge is the “Wildcard” entry into the Indian Defence ecosystem. Unlike the DISC or ADITI tracks which give you specific problems to solve the Open Challenge invites you to tell the Ministry of Defence what you have built. If you have a breakthrough in robotics, AI, materials, or propulsion that wasn’t covered in the official problem statements, this is your portal.

📋 What Makes a Strong “Open Challenge” Entry?
Since there is no set problem statement, your proposal must clearly articulate:
- The Military Use Case: How exactly does your tech help a soldier, a pilot, or a naval officer?
- Innovation: Is this an incremental improvement or a “First-in-India” / “First-in-World” technology?
- Technology Readiness Level (TRL): iDEX prefers projects that are at least at the prototype stage (TRL 3 or 4) rather than just theoretical ideas.
