The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has officially invited entries for its 12th Annual Short Film Competition. This prestigious contest aims to recognize the creative efforts of Indian citizens who use the cinematic medium to promote and protect human rights. Whether you are a professional filmmaker or a student with a smartphone, this is a platform to highlight issues like liberty, equality, and dignity.
ℹ️ Competition Details
- Organizer: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India.
- Themes: Right to life, liberty, equality, and dignity; issues of child/bonded labor; women’s rights; rights of the elderly or disabled; LGBTQI+ challenges; environmental hazards; and more.
- Film Language: English or any Indian language (with mandatory English subtitles).
- Duration: Minimum 3 minutes and maximum 10 minutes.
- Format: Documentary, dramatization, fiction, or animation (preferably under 2 GB in MP4).

- Prepare the Film: Ensure it meets the 3-10 minute limit and has English subtitles.
- Download Form: Get the official entry form from the NHRC Website.
- Submit: Send your film link (via Google Drive) along with the scanned, duly filled entry form and a government ID proof (Aadhaar/PAN) to: nhrcshortfilm@gmail.com.
