Global Quantum Mechanics Challenge 2026 (GQMC 2026) is an international science competition for high school and university students worldwide. It helps students explore quantum mechanics, solve challenging physics problems, engage with real-world research, and build stronger analytical and problem-solving skills beyond the regular school or college curriculum.

- Mode of Conduct: Primarily online
- Target Audience: Open to current high school and university students from all countries.
- Competition Type: Individual science/physics challenge focused on quantum mechanics.
- Age Groups: Participants are divided into Junior, Youth, and Senior categories based on grade/age.
- Learning Focus: Topics include wave mechanics, quantum tunnelling, spin dynamics, and research-based quantum physics problems.

- Semi-Final Round: 12 EUR for qualified participants

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Who can participate: Current high school and university students from any country.
- Student status: Participants must be enrolled in a high school or university. Gap-year students between school and university are also eligible.
- Mode: Individual participation.
- Age groups:
- Junior: 10th grade and below, and under 16 years of age
- Youth: 11th to 13th grade, or 16 years and above
- Senior: 1st year college/university and above, or 19 years and above
- Qualification Round: Students solve 5 quantum mechanics problems. Each carries 5 points.
- Submission Format: Solutions can be digitally typed or submitted as PDF.
- Team Rule: Final submission is individual.
- Semi-Final Round: Qualified students take a supervised 60-minute exam with 2 calculation problems and 1 research-based problem based on a scientific paper.
- Final Round: Finalists take a digitally monitored online exam with around 30 questions.
- Evaluation: Final awards are based on Final Round scores. If there is a tie, scores from the Semi-Final and Qualification Round are used.

- Total Prize Pool: Awards are worth USD 1,500, including cash prizes and special honours.

- 1st Prize: USD 250 + certificate
- 2nd Prize: USD 175 + certificate
- 3rd Prize: USD 125 + certificate
- Youth Category:
- 1st Prize: USD 200 + certificate
- 2nd Prize: USD 150 + certificate
- 3rd Prize: USD 100 + certificate
- Junior Category:
- 1st Prize: USD 175 + certificate

- Certificates: All participants receive an official participation certificate.
- Finalists can receive Bronze, Silver, or Gold Honour based on performance.
- National Awards: Top participants from each country can receive special national award certificates.
