📌 About the Scholarship
Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2026 is a merit-cum-means scholarship initiative by Kotak Mahindra Group companies and Kotak Education Foundation to support meritorious girl students from low-income families in pursuing professional undergraduate education after Class 12. The scholarship provides financial assistance of up to INR 1.5 lakh per year for courses such as Engineering, MBBS, Integrated LLB, Design, Architecture, Integrated BS-MS/BS-Research, and other professional degrees.
ℹ️ Scholarship Details
- Scholarship Type: Merit-cum-means scholarship for girl students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Mode of Application: Online application through the Buddy4Study application portal linked from the official Kotak Education Foundation page.
- Target Audience: Female students across India who have passed Class 12 and are entering professional undergraduate courses.
- Eligible Course Areas: Engineering, MBBS, Integrated LLB, Integrated BS-MS/BS-Research, Design, Architecture, and similar professional courses from reputed institutions.
- Scholarship Category: CSR-based education support by Kotak Mahindra Group companies and Kotak Education Foundation.

- Last Date for Registration: 30 June 2026
- Interview/Selection Dates: To be notified after shortlisting. Selection involves multiple stages, including interviews for top-performing applicants.
- Scholarship Renewal: Yearly renewal is subject to continued eligibility, academic performance, and Kotak Education Foundation’s discretion.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Gender Eligibility: Open only for girl students across India.
- Academic Requirement: Applicants must have scored 75% or more marks or equivalent CGPA in Class 12 board examinations.
- Family Income Limit: Annual family income must be equal to or less than INR 6,00,000.
- Course Requirement: Applicants must have secured admission to the first year of a professional graduation program such as Engineering, MBBS, Integrated LLB, Integrated BS-MS/BS-Research, Design, Architecture, etc.
- Institute Requirement: Eligible courses should be pursued from reputed institutions, including NIRF/NAAC-accredited institutions, IISER, IISc Bangalore, or similar recognised institutions.
- Not Eligible: Children of employees of Kotak Mahindra Group, Kotak Education Foundation, and Buddy4Study are not eligible.
🏆 Prize Details and Value
- Scholarship Amount: Selected scholars receive INR 1.5 lakh per year.
- Duration of Support: The scholarship is provided until completion of the professional graduation course/degree, subject to renewal criteria.
- Covered Expenses: The amount can be used for tuition fees, hostel fees, internet, transportation, laptops, books, and stationery.
- Renewal Conditions: Scholars must have no dropout, no disciplinary issues, and must either score at least 6 CGPA yearly or be promoted to the next academic year, as decided by the foundation.
- Fund Transfer: The scholarship amount is transferred annually to the scholar’s bank account, or to the parent/guardian’s account if the scholar is still a minor.
