Bar Bench Review 2026 – 1st National Online Article Writing Competition is a national-level legal writing competition organized by Bar Bench House. 🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility – UG law students: Open to students from 5-year integrated law programmes and 3-year LL.B. programmes from recognized institutions across India.
- PG students: Open to LL.M. / Masters students from recognized universities across India.
- Scholars and professionals: Open to Ph.D. scholars, practicing advocates, judicial clerks, and legal professionals.
- Word limit –
- Short Article: 1,000–1,200 words
- Long Article: 1,500–2,000 words
- Case Comment / Judgment Writing: 1,000–1,500 words
- Formatting rules: Manuscripts must use Times New Roman, A4 size, 1-inch margins, justified alignment, and must not contain author-identifying details.
- AI policy: AI-generated legal arguments, analysis, structure, or citations are not allowed. AI use is permitted only up to 10% for grammar or language refinement.
- Plagiarism limit: Maximum similarity index allowed is 15%.
- Review process: Entries go through technical screening, blind peer review, and editorial moderation.
- Evaluation criteria: Entries are judged on originality, legal research quality, legal reasoning, critical thinking, citation accuracy, language clarity, and formatting compliance.
