Biothon 2026
Marwadi University
📌About the Challenge
Biothon 2026 is a prestigious interdisciplinary innovation sprint organized by Marwadi University (MU) in Rajkot, Gujarat. Strategically bridging the gap between computational systems and healthcare engineering, this hackathon brings together bright minds across three core domains: IT Operations/Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, and Life Sciences Research.
Participants face rigorous problem statements addressing high-impact areas, including Bioinformatics, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Innovation Management. Rather than a purely conceptual exercise, Biothon 2026 demands true proof-of-concept development, where software logic intersects with biological and engineering execution.

📋 The 3-Stage Elimination Roadmap
The tournament structure filters out purely theoretical applications through sequential, time-locked checkpoints:
Round 1: Structural PPT Submission (Deadline: June 20, 2026 @ 2:16 PM IST)
- Domain Sync: Register online, select your primary domain, and claim a specific problem statement.
- Template Mandate: Download and use the official PPT template provided by the Marwadi University organizing committee.
- Core Case Building: Complete your slide deck covering problem analysis, your proposed solution, your chosen technology stack, and expected outcomes.
- ⚠️ Absolute Compliance Rule: Round 1 evaluation is completely based on whether your team strictly followed the official layout template. Failure to do so results in instant disqualification.
Round 2: Digital Video Walkthrough (Deadline: June 25, 2026 @ 11:01 PM IST)
- Eligibility Check: Open exclusively to teams officially shortlisted from the Round 1 template audit.
- The Execution: The Team Lead must record a comprehensive presentation video explaining the team’s problem statement, technical approach, and expected workflow using the previously submitted PPT.
- Format Limits: The video must be a maximum of 5 to 7 minutes in MP4 format, featuring clear video framing and loud, clean audio quality.
- Submission Protocol: Upload the video onto a YouTube channel (created using a personal Gmail account) and log the live, public/unlisted video link directly into the Biothon submission portal before the deadline.
Round 3: The Grand Finale (Offline – July 4, 2026 @ Marwadi University)
- Selected finalist teams must travel to the Marwadi University Campus in Rajkot, Gujarat for a full physical evaluation.
- Teams must present their complete solutions to an expert judging panel. Ideas must meet physical execution: functional software codebases, working hardware components, or biological models are expected.
- Finalists face an intensive Q&A session where domain-expert judges review technical feasibility, individual team role distributions, scalability roadmaps, and strategic approaches.
👥 Team Configuration & Prize Pool
- Roster Constraints: Open to coordinated squads of 2 to 4 members.
- 💰 Total Prize Pool Matrix: Financial awards and institutional grants valued at ₹1,80,000 will be distributed among top podium finishes and domain winners.
