📌About the Event
BCO Ideas Competition 2026 is a future-of-workplace idea competition by the British Council for Offices (BCO). It invites young professionals aged up to 35 to submit bold, practical, and high-impact ideas for the future of workspace, office design, workplace innovation, sustainability, people-first workplaces, and the built environment. The 2026 edition has been relaunched as a structured development programme with mentoring, idea-development training, public speaking support, and a TED-style finalist showcase in London.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility: Open to BCO members and non-members aged up to 35 years.
- Eligible Participants: Young professionals and emerging talent interested in the future of workplace, office design, built environment, architecture, real estate, and workplace innovation.
- Application Process: Participants must download the Ideas Competition 2026 brief and proposal form, complete the proposal, and email it to BCO.
- Submission Requirement: The proposal should explain the participant’s idea title, synopsis, career background, and the idea’s what, why, and how.
- Idea Quality Expected: BCO says the competition is looking for ideas that are imaginative, credible, deliverable, and capable of real-world impact.
- Finalist Selection: Shortlisted finalists will be selected and announced on 1 July 2026.
- Evaluation Process: Finalists will present their ideas at a TED-style live showcase in front of 100+ industry leaders, and an expert judging panel will select one winning idea.

- Training Support: Finalists get three one-day public speaking and idea-development training sessions.
- One-on-One Coaching: Finalists receive a 60-minute virtual coaching session.
- Mentorship: Finalists get mentoring from experienced industry professionals and the BCO community.
- Live Showcase: Finalists present their ideas at a TED-style event in London.
- Industry Exposure: Finalist talks will be professionally filmed and promoted through BCO’s platforms.
- Winner Benefit: The winning idea enters the BCO Incubator, where it may be developed into a research/best-practice document or a commercial proposition.
