Commonwealth Master's Scholarships
Commonwealth Scholarship
📌About the Scholarship
Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), this prestigious international award allows talented and motivated individuals from eligible low- and middle-income Commonwealth nations to pursue a full-time, taught Master’s degree at an approved UK university.
The program is fundamentally geared toward individuals who demonstrate outstanding academic potential but lack the financial means to fund their higher education in the UK.
📅 Core Timeline & Dynamic Milestones
- 🏁 Academic Term Start: September/October 2026
📋 Strict Eligibility Parameters
To qualify for eventual selection rounds, applicants must satisfy all the following criteria:
- 🌍 Citizenship & Residence: Must be a citizen of, permanently reside in, or hold official refugee status within an eligible Commonwealth country (e.g., India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Kenya, Pakistan).
- 🎓 Academic Prerequisites: By September 2026, you must hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class (2:2) degree supplemented by a subsequent postgraduate qualification (typically a separate Master’s degree).
- 💰 Financial Need: Must explicitly demonstrate an inability to afford a UK education without full financial sponsorship.
- 🔁 Return Mandate: All selected scholars must explicitly commit to returning to their home country immediately following graduation to spearhead localized sustainable development. Switching to a UK Graduate Route or working visa post-study is strictly prohibited.
- 🔞 Age & Contextual Additions: There is no upper age limit. Contextual allowances are factored into the application grading for disabled applicants through specialized channels like the Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum.
