The 2026 International Case Writing Competition (the 6th Annual Fox Case Writing Competition) is hosted by the Translation Research Center (TRC) at the Fox School of Business, Temple University.
Organized in high-level collaboration with Ivey Publishing and the Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT) and supported by industry heavyweights like KPMG—this global tournament is designed to crowdsource, evaluate, and publish high-caliber, teaching-ready business cases. The initiative highlights authors who can capture complex operational hurdles and translate them into actionable, classroom-tested strategies.

🔬 Core Competition Tracks & Themes
Submissions must target real-world challenges within one of the two core thematic tracks:
1. Ethics in Business
Focusing heavily on how systemic integrity shapes modern corporate governance. Submissions should cover:
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Ethical sourcing, carbon reduction, and sustainability metrics.
- Ethical Leadership: Navigating boardroom dilemmas, executive transparency, and fiscal accountability.
- Business Integrity: Mitigating corruption, corporate fraud, and deep supply-chain vulnerabilities.
- Marketing & Workplace Ethics: Fair labor structures, consumer data privacy boundaries, diversity and inclusion execution, and predatory advertising defenses.
2. AI, Analytics, and Automation
Focusing on the strategic and operational disruptions caused by next-gen technologies. Submissions should cover:
- Process Optimization: Deploying edge AI to drive factory/office efficiencies and structural cost reductions.
- Implementation Hurdles: Managing algorithmic bias, workforce technological adaptation, and legacy system transitions.
- Strategic Impact: Predictive big data analytics for executive decision-making and cross-functional AI innovation.
- Industry Applications: Scaled deployment of automated solutions within healthcare, finance, retail, and logistics.
👥 Eligibility & Strict Submission Rules
The competition enforces precise criteria regarding authorship team makeup and case sourcing:
- 🎓 Academic Prerequisite: The challenge is open to business practitioners, doctoral candidates, and university academics. However, at least one author on the submission must be a faculty member actively teaching at a business school. Joint practitioner-academic submissions are highly encouraged.
- 📊 Field-Based Preference: The evaluation board maintains a strong preference for field-based cases—meaning narratives built on direct corporate fieldwork, executive interviews, and internal, unclassified company data.
- 📜 Legal Clearance: Every field-based case submission must be accompanied by an official, signed Consent to Use release form executed by an authorized representative of the featured organization.
🎁 Competition Awards
Cash prizes are awarded independently across each of the two core categories:
- 🥇 1st Place Champion: $2,000 cash grant
- 🥈 2nd Place Runner-Up: $1,500 cash grant
