The 20th IGBC Green Design Competition 2026 is a national-level sustainable design competition for architecture, planning, and design students. This year’s theme is “Beyond Destinations: Designing Conscious Journeys for Sustainable Tourism”, encouraging students to rethink tourism through sustainable architecture, culture, landscape, climate sensitivity, and community-focused design. The competition includes small-scale and large-scale intervention categories and is aimed at building future green design leaders.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility:
- Architecture students
- Planning students
- Design students
- Recent graduates from UG and PG programmes, including 2025 graduates, are also listed as eligible on the Ethos competition page.
- Rules:
- Participants must choose either the small-scale or large-scale intervention category.
- Teams can have up to 3 members.
- Submissions should respond to the theme of sustainable tourism and conscious journeys.
- Designs should show sustainability, contextual understanding, innovation, and practical green design thinking.
- The jury’s decision will be final and binding.
- Evaluation Process:
- Entries are expected to be evaluated by a jury based on design idea, sustainability approach, relevance to theme, presentation quality, innovation, and feasibility.
- Final evaluation details should be checked in the official competition brief before submission.
