📌 About the Program
The uGSOT Scholarship Program 2026 is a major higher education funding initiative launched by the upGrad School of Technology (uGSOT).
The program is engineered to fast-track high-potential science students into advanced engineering disciplines. It focuses exclusively on financing premium undergraduate degrees ($\text{B.E./B.Tech.}$) in Computer Science, targeting future-focused technologies like Generative AI, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, and Full-Stack Systems Architecture.
📅 Critical Timelines & Operations
- Application Submission Deadline: August 13, 2026
- Region Bound: Open to eligible applicants nationwide (PAN India).
- Submission Protocol: 100% Online applications only. Direct portal routing is active via the short entry gate.
🎓 Strict Eligibility Criteria
To bypass preliminary algorithmic filters and qualify for the examination stage, applicants must meet these academic standards:
1. Core Academic Streams & Marks
- Applicants must have successfully cleared their Class 12 board examinations from the Science stream.
- Mandatory subject combinations must include PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology).
- Minimum academic performance threshold: At least 50% aggregate marks in Class 12.
2. Year of Passing Window
- The scholarship strictly targets recent school graduates. Applicants must have cleared their Class 12 boards in the academic year 2025 or 2026.
3. Degree & Specialization Alignment
Candidates must intend to pursue a full-time $\text{B.E./B.Tech.}$ in Computer Science specializing exclusively in one of the following domains:
- GenAI & ML: Deep learning frameworks, neural architectures, and generative transformers.
- Quantum Computing: Quantum mechanics simulations, cryogenic algorithms, and advanced cryptography layers.
- Full Stack Development: Enterprise-tier database clustering, scalable backend APIs, and micro-frontend runtimes.
🏆 Tiered Prize Structure & Scholarship Matrix
The program uses a dual-benefit system that tracks admission entrance scoring and individual profile verification:
Phase 1: The uGNET Exam Filter
- Immediate Reward: All applicants receive a direct discount on the uGNET entrance examination fee, scaled according to their verified Class 12 percentage.
Phase 2: Up to 100% Tuition Fee Waivers
Students who clear the uGNET exam and formally secure an admission seat unlock access to five institutional scholarship pools that cover up to 100% of the complete tuition fee:
- Merit-Based Scholarship: Awarded to top rankers within the uGNET entrance examination and high Class 12 scorers.
- Girls in Tech Scholarship: Reserved to increase female representation in advanced computing and engineering ecosystems.
- Need-Based Scholarship: Tailored for students demonstrating genuine socio-economic hardships and financial constraints.
- Ronnie Screwvala Scholarship for Tech Innovators: Awarded to applicants demonstrating verified tech builds, patents, open-source repositories, or entrepreneurial spirit.
- Defence Scholarship: Reserved for the children of Indian Armed Forces personnel and veterans.
