The Independence Day Celebration 2026 – National Painting Competition is a flagship artistic campaign launched by the Ministry of Defence in coordination with MyGov and MY Bharat.
Organized as part of the official 2026 Independence Day milestones, the competition invites creative citizens to visually contrast India’s past with its modern, tech-driven future. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about the country’s recent socio-economic achievements, infrastructural changes, and deep-tech milestones across all critical industrial and defense domains.

- Submission Portals: Online via either the official MyGov or MY Bharat platforms. Note: A single combined result sheet will be issued. Submitting on both platforms will lead to disqualification.

Submissions must depict the developmental trajectory, scientific milestones, defense advancements, and economic achievements of India from independence toward the centenary vision of a fully developed nation (Viksit Bharat).
๐ General Terms & Strict Submission Guidelines
- Citizenship & Roster Bounds: Open exclusively to citizens of India. An individual can participate only once.
- Contact Profile Separation: Each entry requires a unique mobile number and email ID. Multiple participants cannot share the same contact metadata.
- Plagiarism & Copyright: Using copyrighted imagery or reproducing existing artwork is strictly prohibited. An explicit originality undertaking must be furnished by the creator to prevent disqualification.
- Ineligibility Filter: Employees directly or indirectly connected with organizing this competition, along with their immediate family members, are barred from entry.
- Evaluation Authority: Submissions will be evaluated by a designated Screening Committee within the Ministry of Defence. Their selection decisions are final and binding.
๐ Prize Pool & Exclusive Red Fort Invitations
The Ministry of Defence has structured a highly prestigious rewards framework:
- Top 3 Winners Cash Reward: โน15,000 each
- Consolation Prizes: โน5,000 each for twenty (20) selected runners-up.
- Red Fort VIP Access: The Top 200 participants will receive an official government e-invitation to witness the Independence Day Ceremony live on August 15, 2026, at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
- Companion Pass: Each of the top 200 invitations includes a pass for one companion (spouse, guardian, or relative). Note: Children below 5 years of age are not permitted as companions at the venue.
- Logistics Note: While all travel, lodging, and food expenses to and within Delhi must be borne entirely by the individual, travel on the Delhi Metro to and from the parade will be 100% free of charge upon showing the official e-invitation at any metro station.
