The Culture Segment Competition on Patriotism is a national-tier performing arts campaign launched by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in coordination with MyGov.
Organized as part of the country’s Independence Day Celebrations 2026, this contest aims to blend artistic expression with civic pride. The initiative invites citizens to express their love for the country through traditional and creative performances, specifically highlighting the rich cultural heritage, unique traditions, and the vital role of the eight northeastern states in India’s nation-building story.

🎭 Permitted Performance Mediums
Participants have the creative freedom to choose one of three performing arts tracks, provided they center around the core theme of Patriotism:
- Singing Track: Vocal performances of patriotic tracks, folk melodies, or original compositions that evoke a sense of national pride and unity.
- Dancing Track: Solo or group choreography utilizing traditional northeastern classical/folk styles or contemporary routines reflecting a patriotic spirit.
- Poem Recitation Track: Spoken-word performances or poetry readings focusing on themes of national sacrifice, historical milestones, or cultural harmony.
⚖️ Technical Screening & Evaluation Framework
Submissions will be thoroughly vetted by a designated Ministry of DoNER Screening Committee based on six primary parameters:
- Thematic Relevance: Direct alignment with patriotism, national integration, and northeastern pride.
- Cultural Authenticity: Accurate and respectful representation of traditional performance styles and regional heritage.
- Creativity & Presentation: Originality in composition, arrangement, or execution.
- Technical Performance Skill: Stage presence, vocal control, emotional expression, and overall audience engagement.
- Group Coordination: Synchronization, teamwork, and staging flow (applicable to group entries).
- Aesthetic Production: Effective use of appropriate traditional costumes, backing instruments, props, and overall audio-visual neatness.
🏆 Rewards, Certifications, & VIP Red Fort Passes
The Ministry has structured a dual-track reward layout to recognize artistic talent both nationally and within the target region:
- National Top 10 Recognitions: The Top 10 winners across the entire competition pool will receive official, validated Merit Certificates from the Ministry of DoNER.
- VIP Red Fort Pass Allocations (Special Regional Bracket): Three specific winners will be explicitly chosen from across the Eight North Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura).
- Live Independence Day Invitation: These three selected regional winners will secure an exclusive opportunity to travel to New Delhi to witness the Independence Day Celebrations live on August 15, 2026, at the historic Red Fort.
