📌 About the Event
The “Census Pulse – Reel Challenge” is a high-impact national digital media initiative launched by the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India (ORGI), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with MyGov.
As India approaches Census 2027, this public engagement campaign leverages short-form digital content to educate the population on the strategic value of demographic data. Content creators, students, and digital influencers are invited to act as grassroots brand ambassadors, translating complex public data collection concepts into engaging, highly shareable short reels that highlight how accurate information drives inclusive national planning and evidence-based governance.
📅 Critical Timelines
- Submission Window Opened: July 11, 2026 – 12:01 PM IST
- Submission Window Closes: July 25, 2026 – 11:59 PM IST
🎛️ Suggested Creative Themes
Participants are encouraged to produce narrative-driven, visually compelling reels targeting one or more of these foundational pillars:
- Digital Census & Self-Enumeration: Spotlighting the transition to digital-first reporting and the convenience of citizens securely logging their own data online.
- National Planning & Development: Showcasing how census statistics directly shape future public infrastructure, schools, welfare schemes, and regional healthcare resources.
- Inclusive Growth: Highlighting how accurate numbers ensure marginalized or remote communities are explicitly accounted for in federal funding.
- Data Privacy & Accuracy: Reinforcing public trust by demonstrating the security protocols protecting individual identities and the necessity of providing true metrics.
📐 Strict Submission Guidelines
To bypass automated filtering and qualify for the judicial evaluation panel, all media links must meet these technical requirements:
- Video Duration: The reel must be strictly between 30 to 60 seconds in length.
- Distribution Channel: Upload the video to a public social media handle (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, or X/Twitter) using the designated campaign tags.
- Portal Submission: Submit the final active public URL link directly through the verified MyGov event page before July 25.
- Privacy Controls: The hosting social media profile must remain public throughout the entire judging and auditing window.
- Production Authenticity: Content must be 100% original and completely unpublished. AI-generated scripts, synthesized deepfakes, or automated AI video renders will result in immediate disqualification.
