📌 About the Program

The Azaadi Hackathon 2026 is a 30-hour national and global hybrid hackathon organized by Code for India (CFI) on India’s Independence Day weekend. Powered by CodeNOW and supported by xSpan CareHub, the hackathon brings together developers, designers, and data scientists to build 100% open-source digital public goods aimed at solving India’s toughest public health challenges.

Participants build using the CodeNOW IDE with AI coding-agent credits and integrate xSpan CareHub APIs. Projects are released under open-source licenses (Apache-2.0 or MIT) to allow adoption by NGOs and government health bodies.

🎯 Target Technology Tracks

Participants choose one of three dedicated public health technology tracks:

• Track 01 – Saathi (AI Companion for Frontline Health Workers): A voice-first, multilingual assistant helping ASHA/ANM health workers triage symptoms, schedule checkups, and log ABHA/ABDM health records.
• Track 02 – Nirog (Preventive-Health Digital Twin for Bharat): A vernacular “digital twin” on low-end phones that turns manual inputs, lab reports, and wearable data into preventive nudges and biomarker risk scores.
• Track 03 – Jan Swasth Map (Open Population-Health Dashboard): An aggregated open-data dashboard with AI agents that forecast disease outbreaks (dengue, malaria, respiratory) and flag drug-supply gaps for health officers.

💰 Prizes, Rewards & Incubation

The hackathon features a total cash prize pool of ₹18 Lakhs across the six participating cities, alongside sponsor awards and incubation opportunities:
