📌About the Event

The IFFJK Emerging Filmmakers Competition 2026 is a short-film challenge organised under the International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK) to discover emerging filmmaking talent from Jammu & Kashmir. Participants must create an original film of up to 5 minutes on the theme “Rang-e-Cinema: Frames of a New Jammu & Kashmir”, showcasing the region’s people, culture, heritage, aspirations, landscapes or evolving creative identity.

• Theme: Rang-e-Cinema: Frames of a New Jammu & Kashmir
• Mode: Online registration and film submission
• Film Duration: Maximum 5 minutes, including credits
• Format: Full HD 1920×1080, 16:9 landscape, MP4 (H.264)
• Languages: Hindi, English or recognised languages/dialects of Jammu & Kashmir; English subtitles are mandatory for regional-language films.
• Festival Showcase: IFFJK 2026 will be held in Srinagar, Jammu and Gulmarg.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Eligibilty:
• Open only to Indian citizens domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir.
• Applicants must be 18–39 years old as of September 1, 2026.
• A valid J&K domicile certificate is required.
• Each participant must submit one original short film created specifically for the competition.
• Participants must independently handle scripting, shooting, editing and post-production.
• Copyrighted visuals, music or other material can only be used with proper authorisation.
• Joint entries are allowed only when participants are officially credited as Co-Directors or Co-Writers.
• Submission requires the final film, participant portfolio and limited behind-the-scenes material.
