The Fungal Photography Competition 2026 is being organized by the Department of Botany, Thakur College of Science & Commerce, Mumbai, in collaboration with the Association of Fungal Biologists (AFB) to celebrate World Fungus Day 2026. Based on the theme “Celebrating Fungal Diversity for a Sustainable Future,” the competition encourages participants to photograph fungi in their natural habitats and highlight their ecological diversity and importance.

• Mode: Online submission-based competition
• Participants must submit their photographs electronically via the official competition email.
• Only one photograph per participant is permitted.
• The photograph must be submitted in JPEG format and should be under 20 MB.
• Participants need to provide both a geotagged and non-geotagged version of the photograph.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Eligibilty:
• Category A: Undergraduate students – 20–22 years
• Category B: Postgraduate students – 23–30 years
• Category C: Faculty members and scientists – 30–40 years
• Participants must mention the appropriate category code with their submission.
• Only one original photograph can be entered.
• Photographs should capture fungi and fungal diversity in their natural habitat.
• Both geotagged and non-geotagged copies of the same photograph are treated as a single entry.
• Entries must include the required location, date, camera and caption information.
• Winners will be selected separately from each competition category.
