📌 About the Competition
The National Article Writing Competition on Clean & Safe Sports is organized by the UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports at National Law University (NLU), Delhi.
The competition invites scholarly engagement with sports law, anti-doping jurisprudence, athlete protection, and sports governance. Centered on the main theme “Governing Clean & Safe Sports: Ethics and Emerging Challenges,” it offers legal scholars and practitioners a platform to address modern challenges in sports regulation.

👥 Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to:
- Undergraduate (UG) & Postgraduate (PG) law students
- Early-career researchers
- Academicians, Lawyers, and legal professionals
- Co-authorship: Allowed
💡 Suggested Topics & Sub-Themes
Participants may write on any contemporary legal issue in sports, including (but not limited to):
- Anti-Doping Law: Criminalisation of doping and the National Anti-Doping Act (NADA), 2022.
- Athlete Rights: Due process and procedural fairness before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and domestic tribunals.
- Sports Governance: Analysis of the National Sports Governance Act, 2025.
- IP in Sports: Broadcasting rights, athlete personality/publicity rights, and sports sponsorship laws.
- Emerging Technologies: Artificial Intelligence in officiating, e-sports regulation, and NFTs/digital assets in sports.
- Global Perspectives: Comparative/TWAIL (Third World Approaches to International Law) perspectives and the representation of the Global South in WADA and CAS.
