📌About the Event
UNFORGET at DemCon 2026 is a national innovation platform by Dementia India Alliance that invites students, researchers, healthcare professionals, startups, companies, and innovators to develop and showcase solutions that can improve dementia care. The initiative covers technology as well as innovations in caregiver support, healthcare delivery, awareness, training, policy, financing, and service models. It forms part of DemCon 2026, the third edition of Dementia India Alliance’s international dementia conference.
ℹ️ Event Details
- Mode: Applications are submitted online; selected participants present/showcase their innovations offline at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai during DemCon 2026.
- Four participation tracks:
- Innovation Challenge: Idea-stage solutions; no prototype required.
- Prototype Challenge: Working prototypes, MVPs, or early-stage products.
- Innovation Showcase: Exhibition for market-ready products and technologies.
- Innovation Stage: Short presentations and demonstrations; participation is by invitation.
- Focus areas: Care delivery, caregiver wellbeing, awareness, assistive technology, digital health, workforce skilling, policy, financing, and scalable care models.

- Application deadline: 31 August 2026.
- DemCon 2026 event dates: 18–19 September 2026.
- Venue: IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibilty:
- Open to individuals, teams, students, startups, companies, academic institutions, hospitals, NGOs, and research organisations.
- Participants can apply from anywhere in India; international applicants are also eligible if their innovation is relevant to India’s dementia-care ecosystem.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older, or participate through an institution or authorised mentor.
- Participants may apply to one or multiple tracks, subject to eligibility requirements.
- Submitted work must be original, and applicants must own or have the necessary rights to present it.
- Participants retain ownership of their intellectual property.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- Innovation Challenge Winner: ₹1,00,000 cash prize.
- Prototype Challenge Winner: ₹1,50,000 cash prize.
- Special Award: ₹25,000, at the organisers’ discretion.
- Total awards: Up to ₹2.75 lakh.
- Participants may also receive expert mentoring, incubation opportunities, pilot opportunities, investor visibility, healthcare partnerships, and national recognition, depending on the track and selection.
