📌About the Event
The Adv. M. Ratna Singh Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2026 is the 10th edition of the flagship national moot court competition organised by the Moot Court Society, Government Law College, Kozhikode. The event honours Adv. M. Ratna Singh, former Advocate General of Kerala, and gives law students a national platform to test their legal research, memorial drafting, constitutional interpretation, and oral advocacy skills through simulated appellate proceedings. The moot proposition focuses on contemporary constitutional issues such as electoral funding transparency, criminalisation of politics, undertrial prisoners’ voting rights, and the Governor’s role in government formation.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility: Open to regular students enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programme recognised by the Bar Council of India.
- Team size: Each team must have 2 or 3 members.
- Team composition: Teams may have two speakers and one researcher, or one speaker and one member acting as both speaker and researcher.
- Speaker rule: Only designated speakers can present oral arguments.
- Memorial submission: Teams must submit soft copies of memorials by 25 July 2026.
- Selection process: If registrations exceed 20 teams, only the top 20 teams based on memorial score will qualify for oral rounds.
- Hard copy submission: Selected teams must submit 4 hard copies each of petitioner and respondent memorials on 14 August 2026.
