📌About the Event
The Blue Economy for Viksit Bharat Painting Competition 2026 is a nationwide creative competition launched by the Department of Fisheries, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov. The initiative encourages citizens to visually depict how fisheries, aquaculture, sustainable use of marine resources, and fish farmers can contribute to India’s vision of a Viksit Bharat. The competition also aims to increase awareness about India’s fisheries sector and its role in employment, food security, exports, and the Blue Economy.

- Theme: “Blue Economy for Viksit Bharat”
- Mode of Conduct: Online submission
- Participants have to create the painting themselves using a traditional art medium and upload a digital image of the artwork through the MyGov platform.
- Permitted media include:
- Watercolour
- Acrylic
- Oil colours
- Poster colours
- Crayons
- Pencil colours
- Charcoal
- Mixed media
- Artwork should preferably be created on A3 or A4-sized paper/canvas.
- The final entry must be uploaded as a JPEG/JPG or PNG file.
- Maximum file size: 10 MB.
- A brief description of up to 150 words explaining the idea or message behind the painting must accompany the entry.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibilty:
- The competition is open only to Indian citizens.
- No specific age restriction is mentioned in the official rules.
- Employees of the Department of Fisheries (DoF) cannot participate.
- People directly or indirectly involved in organizing the competition are also ineligible.
- Immediate family members of such employees/organizers are not eligible to participate.
- Participants must keep their MyGov profile complete and updated, including their name, postal address, email ID, and phone number. Entries with incomplete profiles may not be considered.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- Top 30 paintings will receive certificates from the Department of Fisheries (DoF).
- Selected paintings may also be showcased through:
- Department of Fisheries digital platforms
- Government awareness campaigns
- Exhibitions
- Publications
- Educational initiatives
- The official listing identifies the activity as offering an e-certificate.
