📌 About the Event

The 2026 Ocean Awareness Contest, Your Story, Our Ocean, encourages students to explore the many ways our ocean sustains, protects, and inspires us, inviting them to think about their personal connection to the ocean through the value it brings to their life. Organized by Bow Seat Creative Action for Conservation, it is the world’s largest youth environmental arts contest with over 42,000 participants from across the globe since 2012.

🎯 What You Will Do

  • Create an original submission in one of seven categories: Visual Art Handcrafted, Visual Art Digital, Creative Writing, Film, Interactive and Multimedia, Performing Arts Music and Dance, or Poetry and Spoken Word
  • Research ocean issues using Bow Seat’s Resource Studio with curated articles, videos, and interactive tools
  • Write a 100 to 300 word reflection statement explaining your artistic choices and ocean connection
  • Submit through the official online platform before June 8, 2026
  • Compete for Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honourable Mention awards in each category, with each category judged separately
