The Cordless Lamp Innovation Contest is an international product design competition by Desall, in collaboration with an anonymous leading company from the lighting sector. The contest invites designers to create an innovative off-grid cordless lamp for use in spaces like HORECA, homes, camping, outdoor activities, emergency use, marine, mobile worksites, and other non-wired environments. The lamp should be portable, durable, functional, sustainable, and visually refined.

- Design Requirement: Participants can propose either a standalone cordless lamp or a modular lighting system with accessories, installation methods, or optional components.
- Key Features Expected:
- Light Source: LED, OLED, or similar
- Rechargeable Battery: USB-C, solar panel, hand-crank/dynamo, or other charging solution
- Portability: Handle, hook, clip, or similar mechanism
- Light Control: Adjustable intensity, warm/cool light, preset scenes, or similar
- Optional Add-ons: Power bank, magnetic base, solar charging, light diffuser, motion sensor, collapsible structure, or sector-specific features.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility:
- Open to: Creative talents from any nationality
- Minimum Age: 18 years or above
- Student Eligibility: Design students and young creatives can participate if they meet the age requirement
- Entry Limit: Participants may submit one or more projects
- Submission Platform: Only projects uploaded through the dedicated contest upload page on Desall will be accepted.
- Submission Rules:
- Language: All project text, including abstract, description, and tags, should be in English.
- Project Images: Submit detailed descriptions and up to 5 images.
- Image Format: Preferred 4:3 ratio; accepted formats include .jpg, .gif, and .png.
- File Requirements: RGB colour mode; maximum 1 MB per image.
- Additional Files: Participants may attach a .zip file up to 100 MB containing 3D files, high-resolution images, CAD files, or extra project material.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- 1st Prize: €5,000
- Extra Award / Option Right Fee: €2,000 may be offered for purchasing the licence for economic exploitation of non-winning projects.
- Recognition: Winning and shortlisted ideas may get visibility through Desall’s international design community.
