Digital India Ideathon
Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology
๐ About the Event
The Digital India Ideathon is a national-tier virtual innovation portal organized by the Cยณ and SDC student-led engineering bodies under the TECHNIDHI ’26 flagship fest.
This initial online phase functions as a highly competitive evaluation gate for the main event. Teams are challenged to identify day-to-day structural issues faced by citizens and design detailed conceptual solutions. The primary goal is to bypass generic, low-impact applications and focus on building systems that match the digital framework of the Digital India initiative.
๐ Critical Timelines & Operations
- Registration & Submission Deadline: July 5, 2026
- Ideathon Evaluation Window: Active online phase running from June 26 through July 9, 2026.
- Phase 1 Venue: 100% Online / Virtual Submission Portal.
- Phase 2 Venue (Shortlisted Only): A 24-hour physical prototype sprint hosted live at the SNIST Campus, Hyderabad.
- Central Nodal Desk: For validation inquiries or submission portal resets, contact the organizers directly at digitalindia@sreenidhi.edu.in.
๐ณ Roster Constraints & Entry Logistics
- Team Scaling Bounds: Open to teams of 1 to 4 members.
- Fixed Roster Fee: โน99 uniform cost per group (applies equally to solo participants and full quads).
- Technical Prerequisite: Coding expertise is not mandatory for this phase. The evaluation board prioritizes problem-solution alignment, logical framework validation, and systemic impact over initial code drafting.
๐๏ธ Targeted Innovation Tracks
Teams must structure their design submissions around six official tracks:
- Smart Applications: Consumer applications built to optimize everyday urban logistics, resource sharing, or accessibility.
- Government Services: Software platforms that simplify public sector data sharing, digital documentation, and citizen-state transparency.
- Healthcare: Localized medical data routing, emergency dispatch trackers, and patient management platforms.
- Agritech: Technical data feeds for micro-farming, localized crop advisory pipelines, and rural logistics networks.
- Fintech: Secure, micro-transaction processing systems, localized peer-to-peer lending architectures, and fraud detection layers.
- Open Innovation: Unrestricted domain architectures built to address complex societal or engineering problems.
๐ Perks, Rewards & Next-Stage Pipelines
- Phase 2 Advancement: The primary reward for high-performing entries is an official invitation to the 24-hour physical hackathon at SNIST to build out a working MVP with Google Developer Experts and industry mentors.
- Professional Pipelines: Top-performing teams win direct Internship Opportunities with partner enterprise organizations.
- Hardware & Recognition: Winning teams receive high-tier electronic gadgets, custom ecosystem recognition badges, and official participation certificates.
