Faculty Innovation & Startup Traction
BioCYTIH Foundation
📌 About the Program
The Faculty Innovation & Startup Traction (FIST) program is an elite deep-tech acceleration initiative launched by the BioCYTIH Foundation (BBF).
This call for proposals is explicitly designed to assist academic faculties, research scientists, and principal investigators in bridging the gap between advanced scientific research and marketplace commercialization. The program targets deep-tech projects that have already bypassed basic theoretical validation, funding them to transform advanced concepts into market-ready Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), corporate spin-offs, and viable deep-tech startups.
📅 Critical Timelines & Operations
- Application Submission Deadline: July 20, 2026
- Target Sector: Advanced Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) applied across life sciences and sustainability.
- Direct Registration Link: Official Proposal Intake Form
- Direct Communication Nodal Bridge: For proposal formatting queries or data validation issues, email ss0@biocytih.co.inwith the mandatory subject formatting layout: FIST Application .
- Mainframe Portal: BioCYTIH Official Portal
💰 Funding Matrix & Financial Structure
- Consolidated Capital Allocation: Up to INR 75.00 Lakhs per selected project.
- Capital Deployment Blueprint: The financial architecture combines dual deployment engines:
- Non-Dilutive Grants: Direct funding allocations to support core hardware/software optimization, precision lab validation, and technical iterations.
- Strategic Equity Investments: Dedicated capital injections designed to anchor long-term corporate spin-off growth, supply-chain positioning, and commercial market traction.
🏗️ Supported Technical Sectors & Evaluation Benchmarks
The FIST program focuses strictly on the deployment of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) across four core national impact domains:
- Healthcare: Embedded medical diagnostics, smart robotic care frameworks, wearable health monitoring networks, and data-driven point-of-care devices.
- Agriculture: AI-driven crop telemetry loops, remote automated sensing systems, precision hardware delivery grids, and rural ecological analytics.
- Environment: Automated pollution monitoring arrays, carbon capture optimization frameworks, and clean-tech operational nodes.
- Water Technologies: Real-time water-quality sensory clusters, automated purification management platforms, and distributed hydro-data infrastructure.
⚙️ Core Technical Eligibility Parameters
- Technology Readiness Level (TRL) Threshold: The program specifically supports advanced technologies positioned at TRL 7 or higher (meaning prototypes are already validated in operational or field-ready environments). The objective is to push these systems towards immediate production deployment or market rollouts.
- Product Refinement Frameworks: Provides direct access to advanced engineering ecosystems, specialized scaling workshops, and legal frameworks for university spin-offs.
- Strategic Pref: Projects integrating active industry collaborations, corporate co-development frameworks, or verified private co-investments will receive distinct evaluation preference by the screening panel.
