📌About the Event

The Global Microfinance Case Competition 2026 is an international student case competition organised by the Melbourne Microfinance Initiative. Participants work in teams to analyse a live business case involving a real microfinance or social-impact organisation and develop practical solutions to challenges related to financial inclusion. First conducted in 2011, the competition allows students to apply their analytical, consulting, strategy, research, and presentation skills while creating recommendations that could generate meaningful social impact.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Who can participate:
  • The competition is open to university and college students.
  • Participants can register in teams of 3–4 members.
  • Students without a team may register individually and may be matched with other participants.
  • Teams may include students interested in finance, economics, consulting, business, social entrepreneurship, development, and related areas.
  • A separate prize category is available for the Best First-Year Team.
  • Participants should check whether their institution is conducting a campus heat and follow the registration process shared by the respective campus partner.
