GVMUNEC X 2026, or the Global Virtual Model United Nations Essay Competition X, is an international writing competition for students interested in global politics, international relations, diplomacy, inequality, and the continuing impact of colonialism. Participants must select one of two provided topics and submit a well-researched essay presenting their arguments, analysis, and original ideas.

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Who can participate:
  • The competition is open to high school students.
  • The competition is also open to university and college students.
  • Students from all countries, including India, may participate.
  • Both first-time writers and experienced MUN participants or essay writers are eligible.
  • Participation is individual.
  • Prior Model United Nations experience is not mentioned as a requirement.
• Submission Rules:
  • Participants must select one of the two official essay prompts.
  • The essay must contain between 600 and 800 words.
  • The essay must be submitted in PDF format.
  • Participants must upload the PDF under the position paper section of the application form.
  • The file must follow this naming format:
  • [Participant Name] – [Topic Number] – [Word Count]
  • The essay must use Times New Roman, font size 12.
  • Entries that fail to meet the required word limit, file format, font, or naming instructions may not be considered.
  • A works cited or references page is strongly recommended.
  • A works cited page becomes compulsory when the essay contains citations or information taken from external sources.

• The top three essays from each topic category will receive awards and recognition.
• Selected essays and winners may be featured on GVMUN’s social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn.
• Winners will receive an opportunity to become GVMUN interns and work with the organization’s team.
• Participants get an opportunity to showcase their understanding of international relations and global policymaking before an international audience.
