📌About the Event
Hack Genesis 2026 is a 24-hour national-level hackathon organised by the IEEE Student Branch of KLE Technological University, Dr. M. S. Sheshgiri Campus, Belagavi. The competition invites undergraduate students to build practical software or hardware solutions to real-world problems. Participants can compete in teams, work with mentors and present their functional prototypes before an expert jury.
ℹ️ Event Details
- Mode of conduct:
- Software Track: Online PPT submission and screening, followed by an offline hackathon.
- Hardware Track: Offline prototype-building and evaluation rounds.
- Final presentations for both tracks will be conducted offline.
- Venue: KLE Technological University, Dr. M. S. Sheshgiri Campus, Belagavi, Karnataka
- Team size: 2 to 4 members
- Available tracks: Software Track and Hardware Track
- Software domains: Web development, mobile applications, cloud platforms, API integrations, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data visualisation
- Hardware domains: Internet of Things, embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensor integration, wireless communication, CAD modelling and prototype development
- Facilities: Participants will receive access to dedicated workspaces, mentors, hardware laboratories, testing rigs and basic prototyping support, depending on their selected track.

- Software Track PPT submission deadline: August 3, 2026, by 11:59 PM
- Software Track shortlist announcement: August 5, 2026
- Offline hackathon begins: August 7, 2026, at 9:00 AM
- Final presentations: August 8, 2026
- Valedictory ceremony and prize distribution: August 8, 2026
- Registration status: Registrations were open on the official website when checked on July 24, 2026.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Who can participate:
- The hackathon is open to undergraduate students studying at recognised engineering, science or technology institutions.
- Students must participate in teams of 2 to 4 members.
- Cross-college and cross-department teams are permitted.
- Team members may belong to different institutions or academic departments.
- Each student can participate as a member of only one team.
- A team can select only one track—Software or Hardware.
- Participants do not require previous professional hackathon experience.
- Individual participation and teams containing more than four members are not allowed.

- Total prize pool: More than ₹1,00,000 in cash prizes
- Cash awards will be presented to the winning teams during the valedictory ceremony.
- Participants will receive an opportunity to showcase their software applications and hardware prototypes before an expert jury.
- Teams can interact with mentors and gain practical experience in rapid product development, teamwork and technical presentations.
- Participants can access specialised laboratories, testing facilities and prototyping support.
