📌About the Event
The HSBC India Business Case Programme 2026–27 is a career-readiness and business case-solving programme for undergraduate students in India. Supported by HSBC India and implemented by United Way Mumbai and Sattva Consulting, the programme helps students solve real-world business challenges, build practical workplace skills, and gain exposure to industry leaders. Top-performing teams also get the opportunity to represent India at the HSBC/HKU Business Case Challenge in Hong Kong.
ℹ️ Event Details
- Theme/Focus: Business case solving, workplace readiness, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and industry exposure.
- Mode of Conduct: Hybrid — early rounds are virtual, while later rounds include in-person stages.
- Preliminary Round: Virtual timed online MCQ assessment.
- Scenario-Based Assessment: Virtual submission of recorded solutions to business case studies.
- Regional Round 1: Virtual case-solving and presentation round.
- Regional Round 2: In-person case-solving round.
📅 Important Dates
- Registration Period: July 2026 to 6 October 2026.
- Preliminary Round: October 2026, virtual mode.
- Scenario-Based Assessment: November 2026, virtual mode.
- Regional Round 1: December 2026, virtual mode.
- Regional Round 2: January 2027, in-person mode.
- National Round: February 2027 in Mumbai.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibilty:
- Open to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme in India.
- Academic Disciplines: Students from all streams can apply, including Commerce, Management, Arts, Science, Engineering, Design, Pharmacy, Law and equivalent undergraduate programmes.
- Team Size: Each team must have exactly 4 students.
- Same College Rule: All 4 team members must belong to the same college. A student from another college cannot join the team.
- Batch/Stream Rule: Team members can be from different academic years or different streams within the same college.
- Diversity Encouraged: Teams are encouraged to have academic and gender diversity, though it is not mandatory.
🏆 Benefits for the Participants
- Global Exposure: Top 2 teams at the National Finals get support to travel to Hong Kong for the HSBC/HKU Business Case Challenge 2027.
- International Prize Opportunity: The winning team in Hong Kong has the opportunity to receive a prize of US$10,000.
- Travel Support: Teams qualifying for in-person rounds from another location receive financial support for travel and accommodation, while incidental or discretionary expenses are not reimbursed.
- Certificates: Participants can receive programme certificates and curated learning opportunities to strengthen their professional profiles.
- Skill Benefits: Students get exposure to case-solving, business simulations, workshops, employability modules, industry conversations, leadership skills and practical business learning.
