📌About the Event

The ICSI 25th All India Debate Competition 2026 is an annual student debate contest organised by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). It gives registered ICSI students a national platform to showcase public speaking, legal-business reasoning, governance awareness, confidence, and debating skills. The competition is conducted in multiple stages: Chapter Level, Regional Level, and National Level. ICSI’s official national notice lists the National Level Competition date as 19 September 2026, with the national topic: “Ease of Doing Business depends more on Good Governance than Regulatory Framework.”

🎯 Eligibility & Rules

• Eligibility:
  • Open only to bona fide registered students of ICSI.
  • Students who have passed the Professional Programme but are yet to enrol for CLDP can also participate.
  • Participants must carry their ICSI identity card during the competition.
  • Practising Advocates, Chartered Accountants, and Cost Accountants are not eligible.
• Rules:
  • Students can speak either for the motion or against the motion.
  • Each participant gets up to 10 minutes to speak.
  • Warning bell is given after 8 minutes and final bell after 10 minutes.
  • Marks may be deducted if the participant exceeds the time limit.
  • Formal dress code is required.
  • Judges’ decision will be final and binding.
• Selection process:
  • Chapter Level winners and runners-up qualify for the Regional Level Round.
  • First, second, and third prize winners from each Regional Round qualify for the National Round.
  • National winners are selected from the 12 regional finalists.

  • Travel expenses for student teams may be borne by the respective Chapters or Regional Councils as per ICSI guidelines.
