Painting Contest on India 1947 vs India 2047 is a national-level art competition launched as part of Independence Day Celebrations 2026 by the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with MyGov. The contest invites Indian citizens to creatively show India’s journey from 1947 to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, highlighting progress in areas like science, technology, infrastructure, education, defence, and national development.

- Submission platform: Participants can take part through MyGov or MyBharat.
- Important rule: The contest is being held on both MyGov and MyBharat, but participants should submit through only one platform. A single combined result will be declared for both platforms.

- Objective: To showcase India’s transformation, achievements, and future aspirations through painting.

- Start date: 1 June 2026, 4:00 PM IST
- Last date to submit: 15 July 2026, 11:45 PM IST
- Independence Day invitation date: Selected top participants may get an e-invitation to witness the Independence Day Ceremony on 15 August 2026 at Red Fort, Delhi.
🎯 Eligibility & Rules
- Eligibility: Participants must be citizens of India.
- Participation limit: Each individual can participate only once.
- Language rule: Entries should be bilingual, in Hindi and English.
- Theme requirement: The painting must be based on India 1947 vs India 2047 and should depict India’s developments and achievements.
- Copyright rule: Participants should not use copyrighted material.
- Evaluation process: Winners will be selected after screening of entries by a Screening Committee in the Ministry of Defence.
- Final decision: The decision of the Screening Committee will be final and cannot be challenged.
🏆 Prize Details and Value
- Top 3 winners: ₹15,000 each
- 20 consolation winners: ₹5,000 each
- Total listed cash prize pool: ₹1,45,000
- Special incentive: Top 200 participants, along with one companion, may receive an e-invitation to witness the Independence Day Ceremony 2026 at Red Fort, Delhi.
- Travel note: Travel, lodging, and food expenses for visiting Delhi will be borne by the individual.
- Delhi Metro benefit: Travel in Delhi Metro for the ceremony may be free on showing the e-invitation.
